Christian 7 front

Christian is the title of a song by China Crisis, released as a single on Virgin records in January 1983. It was written by Daley, Lundun and Reilly and produced by Pete Walsh. The single became the group's first chart hit in February 1983 and remains one of their best known songs. By the time it had become a hit, however, Dave Reilly had left the group. The single reached a peak position of no.12 on 15 February 1983.

The song also features on the group's debut album Difficult Shapes.. although the single version is slightly shorter. The album version features on the 12" single release. Two new tracks, not included on the album, Greenacre Bay and Performing Seals were issued on the B side to both the 7" and 12" releases. These tracks remain exclusive to this release.

Live versions of African and White are available on Acoustically Yours (1995), Scrapbook, Vol.1 (2002), Greatest Hits (2012). An early demo version is available on the Fine and also Rare China compilation.
