A Hard Day's Night is the title of The Beatle's third studio album, released in the UK on 10 July 1964. Side one contained songs from the soundtrack of the film of the same name, while side two featured six new recordings not featured in the film. The film had received its world premiere on Monday 06 July 1964.

The album had advance orders of over 250,000 and reached number one on 25 July 1964, where it remained for an 21 consecutive weeks. In all it spent 38 weeks in the UK charts, and by the end of 1964 had sold more than 600,000 copies.

A Hard Day's Night was The Beatles' first album to consist solely of original material, and would become their only release to consist solely of songs written by Lennon-McCartney.
