Matrimonial problems are a recurring theme in French cinema but this is a rare example of the down-trodden wife gaining the upper hand. Julien, rich, fifty ish, charming, wrote his wife out of his life when he divorced her. Now they have a business appointment. Julien expects a brief, banal meeting but Helene surprises him.
